We built Emerald Homes on a simple idea: doing right by your home shouldn't mean doing less for your laundry
Emerald Homes was founded by two Irish co-founders who wanted something simple: a genuinely non-toxic, low waste alternative for their households — and couldn't find one on the shelves.
Stephen Dawson and Mark Corballis kept noticing the same thing in their own homes — a cupboard of heavy plastic detergent jugs, most of them half-finished, none of them recyclable in practice. The eco alternatives they tried had a different problem: they didn't clean well enough to stay in the basket a second time.
So the bar they set for Emerald Homes was simple and stubborn: it has to clean as well as the big brands, or it doesn't ship. The result is a pre-measured detergent sheet — non-bio, septic-safe, and light enough to post through a letterbox.
Today the sheets are stocked at select SuperValu locations and Lotts & Co., and delivered directly to households across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and the US. The team is still small, still Irish-owned, and the founders still read every review — including the critical ones. Especially the critical ones.
