Plastic-free packaging · Proudly Irish
Laundry made simple.
One pre-measured sheet per load. Tear, drop, wash — and if it doesn't clean as well as your usual detergent, your money back within 30 days.
The problem with the big plastic jug
Most of what you're pouring into the drum is water. And you're paying to ship it.
Liquid detergent is mostly water in a heavy plastic bottle — awkward to carry, easy to spill, and nearly always over-poured. Pods fix the mess but still come wrapped in plastic tubs.
A detergent sheet is just the detergent. Pre-measured, feather-light, and it dissolves in your machine — hot or cold, standard or HE. No jug, no measuring cap, no plastic packaging.
How it works
Three steps. No measuring, ever.
Tear
Take sheet from the box. Each one is pre-measured, so there's nothing to pour or judge by eye.
Drop
Place it straight into the empty drum, then load your clothes on top. It dissolves in hot or cold water — no drawer, no residue.
Wash
Run your normal cycle. Works in every machine, including HE. Clothes come out clean, with a light fresh scent.

Irish-owned, with a point to prove
"We just wanted something simple, a genuinely non-toxic, low-waste alternative for our own households."
Emerald Homes was founded by Stephen Dawson and Mark Corballis. Like most households, theirs had a shelf of half-finished plastic jugs — and the eco alternatives they tried didn't clean well enough to keep using.
So they set out to make a detergent sheet that works as hard as the big brands, published every ingredient on the pack, and got it onto shelves at select SuperValu locations and Lotts & Co. Small team, Irish-owned, and every review read by a founder.

What's in my detergent
Five ingredients. All named. All explained.
No "fragrance blend" mysteries. This is the complete formula by weight, from our supplier's safety data sheet.
Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate — 58%
The cleanser
The main surfactant — this is what lifts dirt and stains out of fabric. Also known as SLS, and a recognised irritant at concentration, heavily diluted across a full drum of water.
Fatty Alcohol Polyglycol Ether — 17%
The grease-fighter
A surfactant that breaks down oils and food marks.
Polyvinyl Alcohol — 15%
The binder
Holds the dry sheet together, then dissolves in water. Our biodegradation testing covered the surfactants and not the PVA, so we make no claim about how it breaks down.
Water — 9%
The base
Purified water used in production — nothing added, nothing hidden.
Parfum — 1%
The scent
Sea Breeze. Light rather than perfumed. We do not currently make a fragrance-free version.
A giving programme is coming
We're working on a way for every pack sold to support households in Ireland that need it. We'll only announce it when it's real — details later this year.
