Non-Bio vs. Bio
Non-Bio — no enzymes. That makes it the gentler of the two, and it is the sheet we ship as standard: the one to reach for with baby clothes, bedding, towels and anything worn against sensitive or eczema-prone skin. It still lifts everyday dirt and odour on a normal cycle — it simply does it without enzyme activity.
Bio — the same plant-derived base, with enzymes added. Enzymes are biological catalysts that break a stain apart rather than just washing over it: protease breaks down protein soils such as sweat, blood, grass and food, amylase tackles starches, and lipase works on oils and grease. That is what makes bio the stronger choice for gym kit, sports gear and work clothes, where the lingering smell is protein residue sitting in the fibres rather than dirt on the surface. Because the enzymes do the heavy lifting, it also performs well on a cooler, shorter cycle. Bio is not just for problem loads, though — it is perfectly suited to everyday washing, and it is what most households reach for as their default detergent.
The trade-off is that enzyme activity is less suited to very sensitive skin, and to protein fibres like wool and silk — so non-bio remains the safer choice for delicates and for skin that reacts easily. Our bio sheet is launching soon; non-bio is what ships today.
